THE VOYAGERS CANOE TRIPS
OUR TRIPS
Voyagers Canoe Trips are designed to provide adventure & skill with a message that young men need to hear from men leading healthy & productive lives.
Voyager Canoe trips build young men up, for what is expected of them in life.
Our mission is to encourage each young man to think like the man God intended him to be. This means he ought to be aware of himself, to increase in knowledge, understanding and to develop new skills that allow him to believe in himself.
Voyagers Canoe Trips are designed to encourage and influence new growth, new thinking, in a way that honors God, strengthens families and reinforces their own belief in principles. when we do this, we find it is easier to say no to the vices of this world.
This pursuit mentioned here is accomplished through the use of old gear (Pre-1930).
Canoe trips are done as an adventure and wilderness camping is done the old way, without tents, sleeping along the banks of the river!

Communication is so very important to this process. Parents are encouraged too to get involved with their young men - build the relationship that fosters trust as we grow with one another.
We make it a point to camp like they did in the early 1900's, with very few modern contrivances. The program is organized in such a manner that we follow a system - setting up and packing up as well as maintaining camp - neat and orderly.
Trips are scheduled during the Spring & Fall. Trips therefore, are often much cooler and more unpredictable. This represents the challenges life often throws at us.
We recognize three ways in which individuals learn. Through seeing, through doing and through hearing. The Voyagers also recognize each young man is a unique individual with personality traits that may not always be understood. On the river, the learning and teaching exercises occur indirectly and directly. Natural lessons, often lead to a bigger belief inside each man.
We trust when each young man returns home, it is with new ideas and higher levels of belief in themselves and in others. We encourage each young man to get involved and look to build enhance or start the relationship building with family, friends or those they associate with.
