Begin with the end in mind

Beginning with the end in mind is a great way to achieving success in almost any way possible. Whether it is planning your career, creating a budget, writing a book, raising children or planning a retirement, seeing the end result is incredibly important.

Today, how ever old you might be, is a great time to start planning the outcome of your life. Ask yourself, who do you wish to be at sixty years of age, or at eighty! Is your life peaceful, happy and full of memories? It should be. Beginning now however is the key to achieving this. When we plan for the future, it mandates that we understand the requirements to get us there. For example, if we want to have one million saved up in the bank by the time we are sixty five, we'll have to put so much away every year, managing the interest and understanding the taxes. It is not easy for sure, but the hard work we put into it, will be rewarded when we need it later on.

Our families, our lives or careers are the same way. In order to get what we desire in the end, we must first seek to understand what is expected of us. We must seek to understand all of the details, requirements and contingencies. Again, this is hard work, but well worth the investment.

Proverbs 4:7 says: The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

All too often we believe that what got us here, will get us there. This is not always true. In fact, we must work hard to get to where we wish to be. Today, seek out help. Get yourself support, a group of mentors, whatever it takes to gain knowledge. Then, you will rise to the occasion and live a healthy, fruitful and happy life worthy of who God intended us to be.
